Lowestoft Team Takes on Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike for Macmillan

30 April

Alex Capps, Isobelle Millington, and Macy Stevens from the Lowestoft branch are taking on the Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Macmillan Cancer Support is a UK-based charity dedicated to helping people affected by cancer. They provide practical, medical, emotional, and financial support to patients, families, and carers. Their goal is to improve the lives of those dealing with cancer and offer the support they need every step of the way.

The Mighty Hike is a series of half and full marathons organised by Macmillan that take place across the UK throughout the year. These hikes aim to raise vital funds for people living with cancer. Since its inception, the Mighty Hike has raised over £70 million to support cancer services, research, and care.

When asked why they have decided to take on this challenge, Alex commented: “We are doing this challenge because cancer has affected all of us in some way. We’ve lost loved ones, supported family and friends through treatment, and been lucky enough to know survivors too. We’ve seen how tough the journey can be, and that’s why Macmillan’s work means so much. The support they provide makes a real difference, and we want to do our bit to help.”

Alex added: “So, we’re putting on our walking boots and pushing ourselves to complete the Mighty Hike – because no one should face cancer alone and every penny raised helps Macmillan be there for people when they need it most.”

We wish the Lowestoft team all the best as they take on the Norfolk Coast Mighty Hike for such an important cause.
